Anyway, I enjoyed these songs and they are sounding better to me the more I play them. I actually may go check him out live in concert, just to see what he is up to these days. I don't know if that is because Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons stopped recording or if their status of physical aging could not sustain the teenage love-song.or perhaps the teenage love-song could not sustain the modern age.I understand, however, that Frankie Valli is scheduled to perform close to my area.
Frankie Valli has a unique sound which melds into beautiful arrangements with his back-up singers. Although their sound changes with the times, they still typify a very wholesome and fun music that reminds you of an old working-class city neighborhood where a bunch of guys and girls might hang out at pizza places or a bowling alley. Even though the hey-day of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were before my era, I have come to enjoy their music.
The 1980s, 90s and 2000s are not represented in this collection. This CD package comes with comprehensive liner notes and photos. Most of these songs are from the 1950s and represent a more innocent type of rock-n-roll genre that exemplifies teenage love.
Albeit, the anthology also covers Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' artistry into the late 1970s.
I bought this for my girlfriend was absolutely loves the 4 seasons and found myself really enjoying it myself.it has all the hits and is really easy to listen to.
I recommend this collection. After seeing "Jersey Boys" Broadway Series I bought this collection, If you grew up in the sixties like I did you'll find that this anthology pretty much covers everything,It is a superb collection. Rhino records as always has produced technically superb cd's.
The only song missing is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" off their Christmas album.Buy it you will like it. It has every hit and most of the near hits. This is THE Four Seasons album. You will not find a more complete group of songs.
The Four Seasons" ("You be the judge and jury," it said). I am happy that Frankie entertains us with a number of the Four Seasons' greatest in his tours of the 2000s, but all of their greatest of the 1960s, from "Sherry" onward, can be found on this CD. I picked this CD up after watching "Jersey Boys" in Manhattan, bringing back childhood memories of the best known of the Four Seasons songs. I am glad I saw a number of the songs on Disc 2 performed by Frankie on a tour recently, including "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)," another Gaudio-authored number. That harmony in "Dawn" and "Ronnie". Diana Ross solo). #1 hit "Walk Like A Man" when I was younger, but now I back this spirited, masculine number as the best candidate to outdo The Beatles' best in that well-known double album of 1964, "The Beatles vs.
Who doesn't love the precious "Rag Doll" with those heart-throbbing vibraphones. They had enough songs that made them sound distinctive from the 50s carryover popular groups that preceded the electric-guitar hard-rock era ushered in by the Beatles and faded soon afterward.
(I say the same thing with The Supremes vs. There are moments of excess like "Peanuts" (I cannot stand that song), but how great his falsetto works through and through. After they came out, I played my brother's 45s "Let's Hang On" and the driving "Working My Way Back to You," their biggest latter-day hit, over and over again.
However, the Disc 2 Frankie Valli solo material was interesting too, and I must confess that I was not aware of what a prolific songwriter Bob Gaudio was, having co-authored such numbers as "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and "Who Loves You (Pretty Baby)." Put another way, I was surprised a Four Season had authored these songs. Of course, in Frankie Valli's day, his falsetto voice made kids say he sang like a girl.
Still, the real party is with the Four Seasons.
For some reason, I did not really know the No.
